    ensure universal K-12 technology access in
    Georgia.
  • Help accelerate the application of telecom
    technology for interconnecting K-12 schools for
    collaborative learning, remote access to
    educational facilities, and Internet-based
    resources in Georgia.

Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC)

ARC
  • Established to support economic and social
    development in the Appalachian states.
  • Collaboration between ARC and F3 to evaluate nine
    northwest Georgia counties to establish broadband
    access for local schools, municipalities, and
    industry.

Virtual Field Trip
  • A 6th grade science class in a Chattooga County
    school was selected for the field trip project.
  • Fernbank Science Centers telescope was used
    (with the aid of astronomy software) to allow
    students to view sunspots.

Virtual Field Trip
  • Students were able to control the Fernbank
    telescope from a computer.
  • Students will soon be able to view the skies in
    Japan and Australia.
