  • Provide participants with a framework for
    exploring patient safety narratives
  • Provide a resource guide for patient safety tools

Patient Safety Narrative
  • Read transcript from the residents story
  • Listen to excerpts from the audio tape
  • Small Group Exercise
  • Discuss the narrative with one or two others
  • Identify system failures and successes as evident
    in the narrative
  • Complete the worksheet by assigning each success
    and failure to one of the system properties
