  • A general name for a kind of work that people do
    in many different ways and places.
  • For example
  • Teaching is an occupation that includes
    kindergarten teachers, high school teachers,
    principals and many others.

  • One persons task or tasks in one work situation,
    may be full or part-time, short or long duration.
  • For example
  • A secretary at your school

  • The combined total of all the events in a
    persons life from the time he/she is born,
    including education, work, family, leisure
    activities, and more.

law firm. She is in charge of filing cases and

be a police officer, a forensic scientist, or a
judge. Is this his career or his occupation?

year. Throughout his life he has worked as a bank
teller, a real estate agent, and a teacher. Is

  • All jobs are important.
  • What would happen if the person who picked up the
    garbage stopped picking up the garbage?
  • What would happen if telephone operators didnt
    exist?
  • Would a town be able to function without hospital
    workers? Ambulance drivers? Dog catchers? Pest
    control?
