Biography
  • James Turrell was born in Los Angeles in 1943
  • He is a sculptor that works and obcessed with
    light and space.
  • He earned a pilots license at the age of 16
  • Later in his life, he flew spy planes for the
    Central Intelligence Agency.

  • In the 1950s, Turrell he was running in
    alternative service missions which included
    flying planes across the Himilayas and
    transporting monks out of Tibet during the 1959
    rebellion.

  • Today, Turrell looks like an old testament
    prophet.
  • the Roden Crater, which is his current project,
    has taken over an acumination of over 20 years of
    work, it includes carving tunnels and passages in
    an extinct volcano in Arizona.
