Basic Information/Biography
  • Born estimated around 1450 in the town of
    Hertogenbosch, Brabant (modern-day Netherlands).
  • Died August 1516.
  • His real name was Jerome van Aken.
  • Painted mostly for nobility in Europe.
  • He was an Orthodox Catholic, but his paintings
    were so strange that he was considered a heretic
    by the church.

Painted in 1485 at the age of 35.

Painted in 1490 at the age of 40.

Painted in 1490 at the age of 40.
