NNRMS NR Repository Major elements
Create and maintain a systematic archive of all
the digital spatial data of thematic and base
maps generated using remote sensing data
NSDI Server
NRR Data generation
Other NNRMS Projects
12
NNRMS Standards
Fundamental requirement for national spatial
database infrastructure
  • Standards provide common method to manage,
    access, and display information
  • Exchange of Geospatial information demand common
    data format
  • Integration of multiple data sets to derive
    action plan/decision making
  • Generation of seamless GIS database

13
NNRMS Standards
  • NNRMS Repository Design Standards
  • Image standards image resolution

Natural Resources Census
To provide a snap-shot of the countrys status of
natural resources with a repeat cycle will depict
changes and modifications
  • At 1250,000 scale using IRS-AWiFS
  • Periodic National level Land-use/ Land cover
    inventory for 3 seasons
  • At 150,000 scale using IRS-LISS - 3
  • National level Land-use/ Land cover inventory for
    3 season
  • Pilot study for Geomorphology in 5 different
    Geomorphic Provinces initiated with GSI
  • Snow and Glaciers mapping taken up with Min of En
    F
  • Land degradation mapping launched with Department
    of Agriculture and co-operation

15
Large Scale Mapping
Preparation of 110,000 scale Cartographic
quality maps using space borne imagery and GPS
control
  • Pilot Stage
  • Studying efficacy of large scale mapping for
    different terrain types
  • Standardization of mapping procedures including
    accuracies
  • Designing Geospatial database
  • Operational Stage
  • Generation of large scale maps using Cartosat-I
    II satellite data.
  • Generation of operational Geospatial database.
  • OUTPUT
  • Vector Map data layers
  • Digital Elevation Model
  • Ortho Image/Geo-rectified image
  • Value Added Products

Dubrugarh, Imphal, Nowgong, Tezpur

    activity
  • Social and Environmental Impact Assessment

Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh Karnataka Gujarat
17
CartoDEM
  • Objective of the project is to prepare seamless
digital elevation model for Indian land mass and
    to generate corresponding ortho-image using
    Cartosat-1 data
  • CartoDEM deliverables
  • Digital Elevation Model with Height accuracy of
    8m (LE90) Plan accuracy of 15 m (CEP90)
  • Orthoimage with resolution of 2.5m
  • Augmented Stereo-Strip Triangulation (ASST)
software being developed by SAC is the backbone
    software for generating CartoDEM deliverables
  • WGS 84 for both planimetry and elevation of
