Marie Curie Fellowships
  • Marie Curie Fellowships
  • School of Biosciences
  • University of Nottingham
  • Five Marie Curie Fellowships are available for
PhD students over the next two years in the
School of Biosciences (Food Sciences Division).
These will be directed at providing training for
up to 12 months in the application of molecular
biology to the microbiological safety of foods as
part of the Quality of Life Programme
  • The research group contains 40
researchers from 12 different countries and
received a high research rating (5A) in the last
UK Research Assessment Exercise. Key techniques
    include molecular biology, molecular typing,
genomics, microscopy and imaging and Prokaryotic
    and Eukaryotic reporter gene systems
  • Fellowships available immediately will
be with Professor I Connerton, Drs P Hill, C
Rees, C Dodd and K Mellits on reporter genes (lux
and gfp), the molecular biology of Listeria
    monocytogenes and Campylobacter jejuni, a
molecular approach to HACCP, and food borne
    viruses.

To qualify for a fellowship you should be a
national of an EU member state or a state
