Choosing the Topic

• You will write a diamante poem based on the
  American Revolutionary War time period through
  the creation of the Constitution. Choose a topic
  that represents two opposing sides of the
  revolution era (patriots v. loyalists, colonies
  v. England, states rights v. central government
  rights, etc.). You may need to refer to your
  book or notes.

Creating the Poem

• Follow the directions for creating the diamante
  poem based on your selected topic
• Line 1 subject (one word)
• Line 2 two adjectives describing the subject
• Line 3 three words ending in ing relating to
  the subject
• Line 4 two words describing the subject and two
  words describing its opposite
• Line 5 three words ending in ing relating to
  the opposite
• Line 6 two adjectives describing the opposite of
  the subject
• Line 7 opposite (one word)
