Systems
  • Cells- The basic unit of all living things.
  • (ex.- nerve cells, muscle cells)
  • Tissue- a group of similar cells working
    together. (ex.-muscle or nerve)
  • Organ- a group of tissues that work together.(
    ex.- heart is muscle tissue)
  • Each organ has a specific job in your body
  • System- is one or more organs working together
for a specific purpose in your body( ex.- heart
    and lungs work together)

Basic Parts of a Cell

Basic Parts of a Cell
  • Cell membrane- the wall or outside edge of the
cell. Maintains the shape of the cell.
  • Nucleus- the center of the cell. Contains all the
    important information of the cell.
  • Cytoplasm- supplies the cell with its nutrition
    or food.

5
Your Body Systems
  • Your body- is a group of systems working
    together.
  • Homeostasis- the condition in which the bodys
internal conditions are stable and in good
    health.
  • All of your Body systems depend on each other.
Your muscles need oxygen from the respiratory
system and energy from your digestive system,
which is supplied by your circulatory system.
Your skeletal system supports you and the nervous
system controls all of your body systems.
  • Can you think of a situation where a problem with
one body system could cause a problem in another
    body system?
