Metacollage Idea The idea behind the project was
to create something that users could help create,
change and evolve. The motivation was to give
viewers a new way of visualizing large amounts of
picture information Flickr, photobucket and
similar sites are all boring in their
presentation.
Design The collage relies on PHP and MySQL to be
able to manage the images and records stored in
the database. PHP acts as a currier and
translator for Flash and MySQL because there is
no direct method of communication. MySQL handles
the database information retrieval and
manipulation.
Features Zoom, panning, search, selections,
member profiles, sub-collages, time manipulation
tools, user-moderated content, group collages
