Mentoring Demonstration Project

• Provincial Opportunity
• In Fall 2004, the Ministry of Education presented
  Ontario school boards the opportunity to submit a
  proposal to participate in the mentoring
  demonstration project
• HPEDSB was successful in their proposal and
  selected to be part of the ministry pilot project

• Provincial Framework
• Provided funding from November 2004 through to
  August 2005
• New contract teachers as well as long-term
  occasional teachers were part of the HPEDSB MDP
• One-to-one mentoring support was provided to the
  new contract teachers, inservice and central
  support was offered to the occasional teachers
