  • INTRODUCTION
  • This twenty week course is designed to be
    hands-on and project based. Evaluation and
    assessment criteria in our class will follow
    those factors required to be successful working
    in a professional technical trade.
  • Students will be held accountable for being in
    class everyday, on time, ready to work, with all
    necessary supplies and tools.
  • Due to the nature of this course many of the
    assignments and projects cannot be made outside
    the building.
  • The class will also include the development of
    social, academic, problem solving and critical
    thinking skills.

  • You must ALWAYS have a pen or pencil.
  • Three hall passes per term. Ask to use it.
  • No extra bags in class.
  • No talking when teacher is talking.
  • No negativity or putdowns.
  • Raise hand to add to discussions. No blurting
    out.

    ATTENTION PLEASE you are to stop what you are
    doing, look at me and listen.
  • SEAT WORK
  • 1. Sit in your assigned seat and visit quietly
    or use your Ipad quietly(no sound)
  • CLEAN UP PROCEDURES
  • 1. Wait for Mrs. Nagy to say clean up
  • 2. Put all supplies away properly.
  • 3. Wait for Mrs. Nagy to dismiss the class.

  • Classroom Behavior
  • Every student is expected to not only follow
    Richards Middle School policies and rules but
    also the rules and responsibilities given in
    Drafting class.
  • Students who demonstrate a lack of respect may
    be removed from the class.
  • Students demonstrating dangerous behaviors that
    may result in harming themselves or others will
    be removed from the class.
  • Students are given equal opportunities to
    demonstrate proper and safe behaviors. Each day
    is a new day.

  • In the event the rules are not practiced and an
    unacceptable behavior occurs the following
    consequences are in effect
  • DISCIPLINE PROCEDURES
  • 1st. offense verbal warning, unacceptable
    behavior brought to students
    attention
  • 2nd. offense verbal warning, unacceptable
    behavior brought to students
    attention
  • 3rd. offense student removed from
    classroom(into hallway), serve two lunch
    detentions with Mrs. Nagy
  • Second removal from
    class will result in
  • Parent called, student placed on a
    contract.

  • Attendance and late work
  • If an excused absence occurs the student is
    responsible for the missed work. At the
    completion of the course a zero grade will be
    assigned to any missing assignments.
  • Students will have one week to turn in work that
    was missed due to an absence for one half credit.
  • Tardies
  • You are tardy for class if you enter the room
    30 seconds into the class period. Please do not
    ask if you are tardy, you will be informed
  • TARDY POLICY
  • 1st. tardy verbal warning
  • 2nd. tardy verbal warning
  • 3rd. tardy citizenship grade drop, lunch
    detention

  • Grades The grades you will receive in this
    class will be on a total point system. Your
    grade will be determined by how many points you
    earned compared to the total points possible.
    Your effort and conduct will also influence your
    grade with items such as work habits,
    citizenship and cooperation.
  • 40 of your grade will be based on daily
    assignments
  • 60 on tests and written projects

  • Cleanliness
  • Everyone is responsible for making sure
    the rooms are kept clean and neat. I will inform
    you to clean up your area several minutes before
    dismissal. All students must be quietly seated
    and the room must be neat and clean at the end of
    the hour. I will dismiss the class at the end
    of each hour.

    equipment I will be operating in the Drafting
    classroom. I acknowledge that it is a privilege
    I share with others and that there is a shared
    trust among us to keep the equipment in good
    operating condition. My signature below
    constitutes my pledge that I will not
    intentionally damage or disable the equipment in
    the classroom nor behave in a manner which might
    lead to accidental damage. I pledge to check the
    equipment assigned to me immediately at the
    beginning of each class and inform the teacher of
    any damage or problems that may exist. My
    signature on the line below acknowledges that I
    understand the rules and policies governing my
    use of tools and equipment in the drafting class.
    I understand that I may be held responsible for
    any intentional damage I may cause to the
    equipment I use. I further understand that I may
    be prevented from working with the equipment if I
    violate my pledge.
