The Catholic Counter Reformation
  • The Roman Catholic Church reacted to the
    Protestant Reformation by making limited reforms.
  • The Catholic Counter Reformation was a movement
    within the Roman Catholic Church to stop the
    spread of Protestantism.

Council of Trent
  • Between 1545 and 1563, officials of the Roman
    Catholic Church met at the Council of Trent.
  • At this meeting, Church officials redefined
    Catholic beliefs and created strategies to stop
    the spread of Protestantism.
