General Tips to help your child adjust to high
school
  • Seek parenting resources.
  • Ex Parent Tool Kit(Ontario Directors of
    Education, online version available)
  • Look through the WCI planner. Have them explain
    and record their long and short range plans for
    school work.
  • Pay attention to homework help them learn
    problem solving and understand their thinking
    with probing questions.
  • Keep them healthy, good food and sleep are
    essential.
  • Pay attention to their stress level. Listen to
    them and involve others if safety is a concern.
  • Communicate with their teachers.
