Title: Classroom Procedures

1
Classroom Procedures
2
Lining Up
  • All students will line up against the lockers
with their left shoulders touching the lockers.
The line is not a place for horseplay or talking.
Getting in quickly means more time to finish
assignments so you wont have homework.

3
Entering the Room
  • Enter quietly and go directly to your own seat
and get out your materials for class. We will
keep our binders in this room and they will be
passed out to you each day.

4
Bell Ringer
  • First 10-15 minutes of EVERY class Open your
planner and copy down the agenda for the day
from the board. Any homework or upcoming tests,
quizzes or papers will also be listed here.

5
Bell Ringer
  • Next, you will copy down the lexicon word for the
day. You copy the word, copy down the definition
from the dictionary, including the part of
speech and origin of the word. You will also use
the word in a sentence. Be sure to put a date by
each bell ringer entry. You will need it for my
    notebook quizzes.

6
Bell Ringer
  • Finally, you will copy down the D.O.L. sentence
as written on the Smartboard and then make
    corrections using proofreading marks.
  • AGAIN, make sure you have put a date by each of
    your daily bell ringer assignments.

7
Bell Ringer
  • Once these are finished, we will go over the
lexicon as a class. I will ask for a volunteer
to come to the front and work the D.O.L.
sentence. That student may call on others for
help. Students will address each other by name
    and speak in complete sentences.

8
Electronic Devices
  • Electronic devices will be used on occasion for
educational purposes. You should only have your
device out and on if you have been directed by
the teacher to do so. Having your device out at
any other time will be grounds for disciplinary
action. Using your device for inappropriate or
non-educational uses will also be grounds for
    disciplinary action.

9
  • Cell phones are NOT required for this class. You
are able to participate in all activities without
having a cell phone. Using cell phones for class
poll questions and activities is a privilege that
    can be revoked if needed.

10
General Rules
  • Have a hand held pencil sharpener. Mechanical
    pencils are recommended.

11
Rules (cont)
  • Passes are only given out in emergency situations
at my discretion. If you need a pass, please do
not ask in the middle of the lesson. Wait until a
time when the class is working on an assignment.

12
Rules
  • If you need extra help at any time outside of
class, let me know. We will arrange for a time
that works for both of us.
  • Raise your hand to speak.
  • Speak in complete sentences.
  • Stay in your seat unless directed by your
    teacher.

13
Rules
  • I will always dismiss class by section after I
have determined that each person in that section
has his or her agenda in the planner. Also, all
trash will be picked up in your area before you
    are allowed to leave.
