  • A proverb or wise saying.
  • A penny saved is a penny earned., is one
    example of an adage.
  • Adages have been used throughout time to help
    people understand something.
  • Adages are a philosophical sentence.

  • Vie means to strive to win or compete against
    somebody.
  • The team was vying for the championship.

Ornate
  • Elaborately, heavily, and often excessively
    ornamented.
  • Some of the richer places in Europe have very
    ornate homes and buildings.
  • The Taj Mahal is a very ornate building.

  • Incapacitated means to be knocked out or
    unconscious.
  • The man incapacitated himself by hitting his
    head on the table when he tripped.

  • Maim is to injure or cripple.
  • The man was maimed when he was jumped.

    others such as Kurt Cobain, those are two of the
    most legendary musicians.
