Adage

• A proverb or wise saying.
• A penny saved is a penny earned., is one
  example of an adage.
• Adages have been used throughout time to help
  people understand something.
• Adages are a philosophical sentence.

Vie

• Vie means to strive to win or compete against
  somebody.
• The team was vying for the championship.

Ornate

• Elaborately, heavily, and often excessively
  ornamented.
• Some of the richer places in Europe have very
  ornate homes and buildings.
• The Taj Mahal is a very ornate building.

Incapacitated

• Incapacitated means to be knocked out or
  unconscious.
• The man incapacitated himself by hitting his
  head on the table when he tripped.

Maim

• Maim is to injure or cripple.
• The man was maimed when he was jumped.

Shenanigans

• Shenanigans- Hi-jinks or pranks.
• The kids play shenanigans on their teacher all
  the time in class.

• Hover means to be suspended above.
• The dog ran so fast he seemed to hover.

Wrangle

• Wrangle means to fight with or struggle against.
• Many people may try to wrangle bulls, but the
  bull usually win.

• Congested means to be over crowded or occupied to
  excess.
• The roads were very congested.

  means of a rope or other such object.
• The tethered boat couldn't leave the dock.

• Porous means to have many holes.
• The chair was very porous.

• A promontory is a high point of land over looking
  water.
• The lighthouse was built on a promontory.

• Staid means to be serious and or dignified.
• The staid women was well respected among people.

• Jostle means to push ones way through a crowd of
  some sort.
• The people jostled to get to the front of the
  line.

• Evolve means to go though a change.
• The creature evolved.

• Detirement means a harm or loss that causes a
  disadvantage.
• The home teams detirment may cost them the game.

• Rubble is broken stone or brick.
• The rubble of the old buildings was everywhere.

• Incognito means to be undercover or in disguise.
• The cat was incognito with the animals.

• Legendary means to be a very well known and
  respected person or story.
• Bob Marley was a famous musician among many
  others such as Kurt Cobain, those are two of the
  most legendary musicians.
