  • That skirt and some shoes are called direct
    objects.
  • Direct objects in Spanish function the same as in
    English (except in placement). They answer the
    questions what or whom.

  • If we hear the question Who saw the movie? and
    someone answers She saw it, we understand that
    it refers to the noun the movie. It clearly
    answers the question What did she see?

  • Direct object pronouns take the place of the
    direct object in a sentence.
  • For example

    want it.
  • The word it takes the place of the word

  • te (you)
  • lo (him or it)
  • la (her or it)

  • os (you all inf.)
  • los (them, you all)
  • las (them, you all)

Placement of Direct Object Pronouns
  • Direct Object Pronouns, me, te, lo, la, nos, los
    and las are placed either before a conjugated
    verb or attached to the end of an infinitive.
