• POSTURE kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis

• Gait
• Bone Integrity
• Joint Function (ROM, symmetry, position, edema,
  crepitus,nodules)
• Muscle Strength Size (clonus fasciculations,
  girth)
• Skin (edema, color, temp, intactness)
• Neurovascular Status

DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION

• Radiographic Arthrocentesis
• CT Scan EMG
• MRI Biopsy
• Arthrography Lab
• Bone Densitometry CBC
• Bone scan Chemistry
• Arthroscopy

NURSING IMPLICATIONS

• Patient education before tests to allay anxiety
• Inquire about allergies to iodine or seafood
  before scans, MRI, arthrography
• Remove all metal before MRI
• Signed consent prior to invasive procedures

NURSING INTERVENTIONS POST ARTHROSCOPY

• Compression dressing (elastic wrap)
• Ice packs
• Analgesics as ordered
• Extension elevation of joint
• Activity weight-bearing restriction as ordered
• Teach pt to watch for swelling, numbness, cool
  skin, elevated temp
