deposits.

• Named by Charles Palache in 1935 in honor of
  Waldemar Lindgren February 14, 1860 Kalmar,
  Sweden - November 3, 1939 Brighton,
  Massachusetts, USA, Swedish-American economic
  geologist, professor at Massachusetts Institute
  of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was a
  profound theorist on ore deposit formation.
