1960s

• 1961 Packet Switching

A format in which messages are divided into
packets before sent to another computer. Once
all the packets form a message at the
destination, they are put back into the original
message (Webopedia).
1969- APARNET
Established to test network technology, which
linked many different research universities and
centers.
NODES
Location- could be computer or printer
First Packets were sent by Charley Kline at UCLA.
However, they crashed.

-Ray Tomlinson made new email system
