  • Adjectives describe nouns. In Spanish, all
  • adjectives must agree in number and gender
  • with the nouns they describe. In Spanish,
  • adjectives usually follow the noun.
  • Gender nouns are either masculine or feminine.
  • Number nouns are either singular or plural.

  • A Spanish adjective will change its
  • ending to match the gender and number
  • of the noun it describes.
  • If the noun is singular, then the adjective will
    be singular
  • If the noun is plural then the adjective will be
    plural.
  • If the noun is female, then the adjective will be
    female
  • If the noun is male then the adjective will be
    male.

  • To make nouns or adjectives plural add s to
  • words ending with vowels, add es to words
  • ending with consonants.
  • Él chico ---- Los chicos
  • La chica ----- Las chicas
  • Él papel ---- Los papeles
  • La chica es fenomenal. ---- Las chicas son

  • When an adjective describes a group with both
  • genders, the masculine form of the adjective is
    used.
