  • Normally for political, military, ideological or
    religious reasons.

History of Assassins
  • The word Assassin comes originally from an
    Arabic group called the Hashshashin. They were a
    group of expert soldiers who targeted Christian
    Crusaders in the Middle East during the 8th to
    the 14th Centuries.
  • East Asian societies associated assassins with
    the trained soldiers known as Ninjas. Ninjas
    were paid mercenaries who targeted powerful
    Japanese warlords and shoguns.

Modern Assassinations
  • Most often, modern assassinations and
    assassination attempts have political or
    ideological motivations.
  • Presidents or prominent leaders are often the
    targets of most assassination attempts.
