Phage classification

• Phages may be classified according to their life
  cycles into
• Virulent enters a bacterial cell, produce more
  phage and kill the cell (lytic growth cycle).
• Temperate, integrates into the host cell DNA and
  remain in a quiescent state without killing the
  cell (lysogenic cycle).
