Basic Information
  • Enrollment 478

Navigating the First Day
  • Option to walk in or drop off
  • Arrival begins at 700 a.m.
  • Breakfast starts on Wednesday
  • School begins at 740 a.m.
  • Classrooms open on Wednesday at 730
  • Talk with your child about dismissal and mode of
    transportation for the end of the day.

  • Follow protocol
  • Confirm routes
  • Sign contract before bus service

Arriving by Car
  • Supervision begins at 720 a.m. at the back of
    the school.
  • All cars roll into the curbside single lane of
    the unloading zone along the awning. Children
    exit the car on the sidewalk. The car moves
    around the loop to exit.
  • Siblings at MRIS can be dropped off as well.
  • Prepare the students to exit the cars quickly.
  • Anyone arriving before 720 a.m. or those parents
    who are entering the school must use the front
    door entrance.

Dismissing by Car Tips for Success
  • Car dismissal at the back of the school for
    Grades 1-3. Car dismissal at the front of the
    school for K students and their siblings. This
    process will begin on the first day of school.
  • Do not arrive before 230 p.m. for back door
    dismissal. Students will be dismissed following
    buses at 240 p.m. Do not arrive before 220 p.m.
    for front door dismissal. Students will be
    loaded into cars at 235 p.m.
  • If you must arrive earlier, park in the front lot
    or hang out in a neighborhood until the access
    road opens (all buses exit).
  • Follow the directions of the crossing guard
  • Use your signals to indicate turns
  • All cars roll into the loading zone (along the
    awning), single lane. Students enter cars. Cars
    exit the zone
  • Dismissal supervision from 240 300 p.m. All
    students will be moved to the office at 300 p.m.
  • Walkers dismissed at 240 p.m. to the
    neighborhoods

Start the Day Right Dont Be Tardy!
  • School begins at 740 a.m.
  • All students entering the building after 740
    a.m. will be counted tardy
  • An accumulation of tardies can affect the
    students attendance record and school truancy
  • We are lenient and dont count tardies until the
    2nd week of school

  • Common Core Alignment
  • Reading/Language Arts complex text, non-fiction
    inclusion, differentiated learning, writing
    composition, accelerated reading

    calculation, math reasoning and explanations

iReach, 2014-15
  • Each classroom will utilize 5 iPads for
    instruction and assessment
  • Each grade level will share a 11 grade level
    iPad set Kindergarten 12 grade level set
  • Promethean Boards, document cameras, school
    computer labs, and classroom work stations will
    continue to be utilized.
  • Professional Development in the Digital
    Conversion Model integrated technology will be
    provided.

  • Each classroom will be equipped with 11 devices
    for grades 2-3.
  • Grades K-1 will be equipped with a 11 or 12
    device ratio.
  • Devices will remain at school, to be used at
    school.
  • Teachers will continue to receive professional
    development for technology integration.
