  • is part of the earths surface identified by its
    combination of natural and human characteristics.

  • Do handout 3 -2 Parts of a Bioregion

3 EXAMPLES OF BIOREGIONS IN CAN.
  • A. TUNDRA cold region, with small shrubs,
    lichens and mosses. This region has a short
    growing season.
  • B. WETLANDS usually found on the Canadian
    Shield Landform region because of the rock.
    Water does not soak in. Swamps and Marshes.
  • C. WOODLOT forest land left when farms were
    created along the St. Lawrence River.

  • Group Activity.
  • You will need the handout titled Three Examples
    of Bioregions in Canada.
  • you are going to draw pictures to represent these
    three bioregions. Discuss in your groups the
    pictures/symbols/icons best to use to describe
    each bioregion.

    AND FAUNA where you live.
  • Write your thoughts into your notebook.
