Simple Verb Tenses

• Verb Tense-identifies when something occurs
• Present Tense-happening now
• Ex- Franco cooks breakfast.
• Past Tense-happened before
• Ex-Franco cooked breakfast yesterday.
• Future Tense-will happen in the future
• Ex-Franco will cook dinner tonight.

Rules for forming tenses

• Present Tense
• To make most verbs singular add s
• Run-runs
• Ends with s,x,z,ch or sh add es
• watch-watches
• Ends with consonanty,change y to I and add es
  (cry-cries)
• When subject is plural do not change the form

• For most verbs add ed (talk-talked)
• Short verb ends with consonant, double end
  consonant and add ed (bat-batted)
• Verb ending in eadd d (hope-hoped)
• Verb ends with cons. And y change y to I and add
  ed (marry-married)
