Answering Doctrinal Questions (Part 3)
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and
always be ready to give a defense to everyone who
asks you a reason for the hope that is in you,
with meekness and fear (1 Pet 315 NKJV)

8. At Christs second coming, will He establish
a kingdom on earth and reign over it for a
thousand years?
  • No. I Corinthians 15 clearly teaches that Jesus
will cease to reign, not begin to reign, when He
    returns.
  • (1 Cor 1523-26 NKJV) Christ's at His coming.
Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom
to God the Father, when He puts an end to all
rule and all authority and power. For He must
reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

    and forgiveness of sins.
  • (Acts 756 NKJV) and said, "Look! I see the
heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the
    right hand of God!

power of darkness and conveyed us into the

  • (Col 31 NKJV) those things which are above,
where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of
    God.
  • (Rom 834 NKJV) It is Christ who died, and
furthermore is also risen, who is even at the
right hand of God, who also makes intercession
    for us.

  • (Heb 13 NKJV) when He had by Himself purged
our sins, sat down at the right hand of the
    Majesty on high,
  • (Heb 81 NKJV) Now this is the main point of the
things we are saying We have such a High Priest,
who is seated at the right hand of the throne of
    the Majesty in the heavens,
  • (Heb 1012 NKJV) But this Man, after He had
offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down

The Second Coming of Christ
  • There is controversy about His return
  • Some say He will not return.
  • (2 Pet 34 NKJV) and saying, "Where is the
    promise of His coming?
  • Some say He has already returned.
  • (2 Tim 218 NKJV) saying that the resurrection
    is already past
  • Some say they know when it will be.
  • (2 Th 22 ASV) be not quickly shaken that
the day of the Lord is just at hand

10
The Second Coming of Christ
  • But, there is perhaps even greater controversy
about what will happen when He does return.
  • Many believe in a thousand-year earthly reign by
    Christ.

  • (1 Cor 1552 NKJV) in a moment, in the twinkling
