History

• The William S. Carlson Library, opened in
  1973 at a cost of 8 million. It was named after
  the University's 10th president, who served from
  1958 until his retirement in October 1972. It is
  the largest of the University's four libraries,
  and the second largest collegiate library in
  Ohio.

Services

• Its six acres of floor space houses more than
  1,275,000 volumes, 5,000 current periodical
  subscriptions, and 2,800 study carrels.
• The library provides faculty, staff, students,
  and the community with access to stacks of books
  and periodicals, group and individual study
  areas, typing rooms and computer access,
  microform materials, and interlibrary loan
  services, and much more.
