Madeline Hunters Direct Instruction Model aligned
with 4-MAT model
  • Dr. Madeline Hunter is most famous for her view
on how lessons should be planned and implemented
in the classroom.  She developed eight elements
that a lesson plan should contain in order to
enhance student learning.  The eight elements
    are
  • Anticipatory Set
  • Purpose
  • Input
  • Modeling
  • Guided Practice
  • Check for Understanding
  • Independent Practice
  • Closure
  • According to Dr. Hunter, practice with this
lesson format will yield better teaching and
    therefore, an increase in learning.
