Joan Miro Surrealist Artist 1893 1983 Today
in Art Masterpiece, we studied Joan Miro. Joan
Miro (Joe-ahn Mee-row) was born in Barcelona,
Spain in 1893. He started Art School at fourteen,
and quickly became a successful artist. He spent
some time in Paris and was influenced by many
artists there. Some of his art imitates the
Surrealists, but he retained his own style. His
works are characterized by bright colors and
unexpected designs. He was a hard-working, modest
man, and died in 1983. Art Masterpiece
volunteers introduced the artist and guided
students in making their own masterpiece in the
style of Miros playful People and Dog in Sun
or by another name Inverted Personages. Also
