THE PRODUCT MECHANICS This product should be done
on POWERPOINT. However, you can use excel or any
other program to insert information into your
powerpoint. The paper should be PORTRAIT for Page
Setup. This product should have the following -
cover page - table of contents with specific
pertinent items - reflection - a copy of the
guidelines - grading rubrics Upon completion,
you need 3 paper copies 1 email copy to Ms.
Wigfall The email address for the product will
be given to you only after Ms. Wigfall previews
the final copy and receives the paper
copies. WHEN PRINTING THESE GUIDELINES, PRINT AS
SLIDES 4 PER PAGE.

Director ( READERS CIRCLE )
Your job is to get the entire circle to operate.
You should direct the students to do their roles
and give them encouragement and suggestions. You
should prepare some key questions that you feel
will help you to keep the students engaged.
To Do - Write your key questions. -
Share any experiences you had working with the
other students in this role.

Illustrator ( READERS CIRCLE )
Illustrator Your job is to make a drawing or
some type of physical representation of the
story. You can draw a picture of something in
the story or cut out pictures and paste them on
paper to use to discuss the story. They do not
have to be perfect. They are your topics for
discussion.
To Do - Make some drawings or physical
representations. - Explain the drawings or
physical representations.

Literary Luminary
Your job is to locate a few special sections of
the text that you think your group would like to
read aloud. The idea is to help people remember
some interesting, powerful, funny, puzzling, or
important sections of the text. You decide which
passages are worth hearing, and then jot plans
for how they should be shared. You can read the
passages aloud yourself, or ask someone else to
read them, then discuss them as a group.
To Do - Identify a few special sections of
the text. - Given the page and paragraph
from book. - Write about them.

Summarizer
Your job is to give a brief summary of the
reading material. It just needs to make the
students get the general idea about what was
read. It should not be extensive.
To Do - Write a brief summary of the
book. ( 1 or 2 paragraphs ) Be sure to give
the information in a sequential manner. You do
not need to give all of the details.

Vocabulary Enhancer
Your job is to be on the lookout for a few
especially important words in todays reading.
If you find words that are puzzling or
unfamiliar, mark them while you are reading then
later jot down their definition from a dictionary
or from some other source. You may also run
across familiar words that stand out somehow in
the reading words that are repeated a lot, are
used in an unusual way, or provide a key to the
meaning of the text. Mark these special words,
and be ready to point them out to the group.
To Do - Identify a few important words.
INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING - WORD, PAGE, PARAGRAPH,
DEFINITION - YOUR ADDED COMMENT

Connector
Your job is to connect the contents of the
reading selection to current or past real world
events and experiences. You can also connect
the reading to other forms of literature, music,
art and/or media etc.
To Do - Write about the connections you made
to the story.

Investigator
Investigator Your job is to dig up some
background information on the book and any topic
related to it. Use whatever means you have at
your disposal. This is NOT a formal research
project. The idea is to find information that
interests you and helps the group to better
understand the characters, setting and plot of
the book.
To Do - Dig up some background information on
the book and/or any related topic. - Write
about what your found.
