Food They Ate
  • Woodland Indians eat fish and fruit.
  • They fish for bass and trout.
  • They also hunted for beaver, bear, otter, and
    moose.
  • Woodlands added sap to their foods to make them
    sweeter.
  • They used sap to make syrup and candy.

War With The Woodlands
  • Some people in the Iroquois tribe were cannibals
    and they would eat their enemies.
  • The Peacemaker decided to make a white pine tree
    the new symbol for the Iroquois tribe.
  • They would sit under the tree and solve their
    problems.

  • European people traded with the Woodland Indians
    for beaver fur that was popular in Europe.
