Absolute Location
  • the exact spot on earth where a place is found
  • Example 29 degrees North latitude, 90 degrees
    West longitude

Relative Location
  • the location of one place in relation to other
    places
  • Example Paulding County is West of Cobb County

  • a symbol used on maps to show direction (North,
    South, East, West, etc.)

  • When a group of people or animals moves from one
    area to another

  • anything that causes people to move away from a
    place

    they measure how far a place is from the Equator
