Title: Deep Clean

1
Deep Clean
  • The latest technology in floor cleaning

2
For Floor Deep Cleaning
Introducing..MULTIKLEEN
The cleaner with added benefits... extended
microbial cleaning capabilities
3
BIOSOL Multikleen is designed specifically for
general floor cleaning industrial kitchen floor
degreasing
Organics collect in pores
grout
Standard floor cleaning leaves grease and grime
imbedded in surface pores.
4
Detergents solubilize grease and soils
ADVANTAGE Dissolved grease and soil are removed
as water is removed DISADVANTAGE Evaporating
residual water re-deposits dissolved soils and
grease Non-dissolved grease and soils remain in
pores Grease and detergent can produce a
polymeric coating on surface
Multikleen technology.. residual
bioenzymatic action to finish the job.
5
Problem ....
  • Imbedded grime discolors grout, collects in
cracks and crevices, and harbors unwanted
    bacteria.
  • Collected organics emit unpleasant odors that
indicate uncleanliness and encourage insects and
    pests.
  • As moisture is spilled, grease is lifted causing
    slip hazards.

6
Biochemistry of grease degradation
Typical grease triglyceride glycerol backbone
(10 of theoretical BOD) plus three fatty acids
(palmitic, stearic, oleic) Lipase cleaves
glycerol from fatty acids glycerol
short-chain fatty acids degrade but long-chain
fatty acids tend to build-up (palmitic, stearic,
oleic acids)

Biological requirement.
  • Stable product combining detergents and
    bioenzymatic activity requires spores.
  • However, Bacillus sp. are not known for
    degradation of exogenous fatty acids.
  • Evidence of degradation by some non-spore
    forming Gram-positive organisms
  • Evidence of degradation by Gram-negative strains

8
Over two years in development..
  • Microbes capable of degrading all components of
grease, including long chain fatty acids
  • Microbes that act in the conditions of this
    application
  • - must germinate
  • - must degrade in the presence of the
    detergent blend
  • Microbes stable in a formulation

9
Result new patent-pending technology..
Superior grease degrading capability based on a
new, patent-pending long-chain fatty acid
degrader. Blended into a consortia of rapid
grease degraders a new patent pending spore
strain provides the ability to degrade even the
most difficult-to-degrade fractions of grease...
leaving floors squeaky clean.
10
Multikleen uses activation chemistry to speed
germination...
Degradation by FAD is dramatically faster when
combined with a special biochemical activator
or co-metabolite...

Multikleen Technology combines bioenzymatic
action with safe, environmentally friendly
chemistry to make a highly effective product
12
Many surfactants interfere with germination..
We optimized the formulation both for cleaning
PLUS.. microbial action.
13
Multikleen cleans better than standard chemistry
upon application..
14
And Multikleen provides additional
benefits..residual cleaning effects with better
technology
15
Field testing locations...
  • Field testing demonstrates
  • effective cleaning
  • improved slip resistance
  • biocontrol

16
TESTING LOCATIONS
  • Two in kitchen

17
FIELD TESTING LOCATIONS
  • One in customer area

18
Slip testing.
In-house testing among three operators was
performed to develop technique such that our
variance was no greater than the variance
reported in support of the ASTM method
listing. Sampling frequencies were selected to
support detecting a minimum difference of 0.05 in
slip index (S.I.) on a scale of 0.0 - 1.0, with
95 confidence.
19
DESIGN - Slip Testing
  • Three time periods were tested
  • pre-Clean
  • Clean _at_ 3 weeks
  • Clean _at_ 6 weeks
  • On a test date, the selected tile in each area
was first tested dry from each tile side (to
account for any graininess), then tested wet from
    each side.
  • Twenty-four measurements were made in each area
under both wet and dry conditions, resulting in
72 dry, 72 wet, and 144 total measurements.

20
RESULTS -
OSHA standards define SVI lower than 0.5 as
hazardous. Regular use of Multikleen eliminated
the hazard.
21
RESULTS - Overall bacterial count remains the
same regardless of the cleaner used.
22
HOWEVER- The population changed to predominantly
Biological strains that have been demonstrated
to be non-hazardous..
  • Plate Photo - During Multikleen Use
  • DNA Fingerprint comparisons of floor isolates vs.
known strains in product to be compared.

23
Field Testing demonstrated three benefits
  • Compared to standard cleaners
    Multikleen
  • Made the floor visibly cleaner.
  • Displaced potentially harmful microbes with
    microbes demonstrated to be non-hazardous.
  • Produced a significant increase in friction,
    reducing slip hazard for workers.

24
MULTIKLEEN
  • Designed specifically for cleaning general and
    greasy kitchen floors.
  • Novel approach to cleaning that provides double
    action.
  • FAST cleaning with sophisticated, safe chemistry.
  • PLUS patent pending microbial technology that
keeps on cleaning long after your work is
    done.

25
Residual bioenzymatic after cleaning effects
provides..
  • Cleaner floors
  • Cleaner grout
  • Reduced slippage by removing grease
  • Odor Control
  • Reduction in conditions that invite and harbor
    pests

26

Cleaning that doesnt stop when you put away the
mop...
  • With each cleaning billions of tiny trained
microbial workers are called to action
eradicating grime buried deep in cracks, corners,
crevices, and the microscopic pores of floor
    surfaces.
  • Each cleaning removes another layer of embedded
grime until the entire surface is deep clean.
  • As the grime is removed so are the associated
odors, removing the major cause of insect
infestation, leaving the area fresh and clean.

27
And it improves workplace safety ..
  • Many accidents are caused by slippery floors.
  • Slippery conditions result when water lifts
residual grease from the floor surface.
  • Removal of residual grease eliminates the major
    cause of slippage.

28
BIOSOL MULTIKLEEN
  • Safe to use
  • Environmentally friendly
