Ecology problems

• The ecological situation is estimated as
  critical. The growth of environmental problems is
  caused by the development of oil refining, fuel
  industry, increase in amount of waste products.
  The basic harmful substances which pollute air
  are oxides of nitrogen, dioxide of sulfur, oxide
  carbon.

• Five cities of the Saratov area -
  Saratov,Balashov , Volsk, Balakovo, Engels -
  throw out the plenty of harmful substances. The
  basic sources of the pollution are enterprises,
  automobiles, railways, river transport. Cities
  are covered with dust which causes damage of the
  environment and human health.

• In Saratov area there are 358 rivers. The
  largest rivers are the Volga, the Hoper, the
  Medveditsa, the Big Uzen, the Small Uzen.
  Unfortunately, many of them are polluted with
  mineral oil, heavy metals, nitrogen, nitrites.
  The water is of poor quality and not suitable for
  drinking. The rivers banks are polluted with
  rubbish.
• In the area there are 994 springs, from them
  541are arranged.36 springs are nature
  sanctuaries.

• Forests occupy 6 of territory of the Saratov
  area and have the important value. The oak, the
  linden, the maple, the acacia, the birch, the
  aspen grow here. The main problem is fires which
  destroy plantings, leave animals homeless.
• 184 kinds of plants and 60 kinds of animals are
  brought into the Red book.

• Among the largest enterprises of the Saratov area
  is Balakovsky power station - one of the safest.
  At the atomic power station and in the area
  constant control of influence of technological
  process on the environment is carried out. It is
  carried out by bodies of the state supervision
  and department of radiating safety of the
  Balakovsky atomic power station. The Influence on
  the environment of the harmful substances formed
  as a result of production, is excluded by the
  project and the reached high level of operation.
  Under characteristics of radiating safety the
  Balakovsky nuclear station is included into the
  list of the best atomic power stations of the
  world. The activity of the enterprise in the
  field of protection is carried out in strict
  conformity with the current legislation that is
  accepted at station in the document "Ecological
  policy of the Balakovsky atomic power station".

• If factories have purifying systems
• If people use less automobiles
• If clean air programmes are worked out
• If businessmen are fined for air and water
  pollution
• If we dont make fires in forests
• If we take litter home
• If we dont pollute rivers
• If we create green zones
• If we protect nature

• the factories will be more responsible for all
  kinds of pollution.
• pollutants will not be polluted into the
  atmosphere.
• air will be cleaner.
• they will not burn.
• they will take measures to prevent it.
• many species of birds and animals will not
  disappear.
• the nature and wildlife will be protected.
• land, rivers and air will be clean.
• they will be full of fish.
