Accreditation
  • Attending a workshop and completing the
    associated activities, will allow senior staff to
    meet the mandatory TAA Scheme Policy training
    requirements to fulfil their obligations as
    Advisors, Assessors, Discipline Experts,
    Institute Representatives, Organising Managers
    and Reviewing Managers.

Purpose
  • Completion of this Assessment Activity is
    necessary to finalise accreditation as a TAA
    Advisor and/or Assessor

Aims
  • Advisers and Assessors develop a TAA2 Action
    Plan and obtain feed back.

  • Using the information in the following Case
    Study prepare an appropriate TAA2 Action plan.
  • Return the Action Plan to Learning and
    Innovation Unit

TAA2 Action Plan Assessment Case Study
  • Using the comments made by his Assessors on
    strengths and weaknesses from his recent TAA2
    observation, develop a realistic action plan for
    professional and career development.
  • Gary Teacher of Building Studies
  • TAFE Diploma in Building a Bachelor of
    Vocational Education and Training as well as a
    Certificate IV Training and Assessment
  • Garry is a highly motivated new teacher whose
    energy and enthusiasm has been infectious.
  • Garry has excellent technical knowledge in his
    specialised area and he does not hesitate to
    assist other teachers if requested.

    arrival the other members of staff have been more
    enthusiastic about their work.
  • Garrys lesson was lively and interesting to
    students.

  • Garry related the theory of the subjects to the
    practical application and his practical
    demonstrations maintain the students interest.
  • During the observation 3 students arrived late
  • His mobile phone rang several times during the
    observation

  • His lesson plan clearly set out the content with
    well defined objectives.
  • His resources are easy to read and appropriate.
  • He utilised the computers available in the room

  • His Head Teacher says he always inputs data into
    CLAMS
  • Garry feels that he is limited in the areas he
    can teach because in his words Im too
    specialised.
  • His Head Teacher says he is restricted in the
    subjects he will ask Garry to teach as they both
    acknowledge that he needs to broaden his
    technical knowledge and experience outside of his
    area of specialisation.

    Weaknesses.
  • Sharons keeps a lot of administrative material
    such as attendance records and assignment results
    in a folder.
  • In the post observation meeting he indicated that
    he wanted to do use more web based resources and
    integrate mobile technology into his delivery and
    assessment practices and that he wanted
    eventually be a Head teacher

Accreditation
  • A Statement of Completion will be issued
    following your attendance at a workshop and
    completing the associated activities.
  • Your accreditation as a TAA Advisor / Assessor
    extends to 5 years from completion of the
    mandatory training.
  • Please submit your completed TAA1 Action Plan to
    Learning and Innovation.
