    (GIT), bypassing the oral cavity, esophagus and,
    if needed, the stomach.
  • Indications
  • When patient cannot or will not eat enough but
    GIT is still functional
  • Examples oral ulcers, obstructions, dysphagia,
    surgical procedures, anorexia nervosa
