• Photo on left (before additive, original wear
  patterns) depicts a fair amount of diffusion
  wear.
• Once that was cured with an EP additive, the next
  form of wear experienced is chipping and/or
  fracture wear.
• Photo on right indicates that an increase in
  surface feet per minute may reduce this wear
  pattern.
• Wear like this may be related to a lack of tool
  holder rigidity or re-circulated fines.
• Both conditions are with identical (proper)
  coolant flow practices, equal number of parts and
  machine data setup.
• Recommendation Increase Surface Feet per Minute
  by 10. Maintain the same feed rate per
  revolution.
