Introductions

• Always introduce yourself
• Greeting
• Give your name and position
• Explain purpose of interview
• What is the subject
• Why are you interviewing
• Example Hi. My name is Maguerite, and I am a
  student at Cuyamaca College. I am interviewing
  people about friendship for the school newspaper.

Getting Permission

• Ask for the interview
• Get the persons permission to ask her/him some
  questions
• Would you mind is I asked you a few questions
  about your classes at Cuyamaca?
• Could I ask you three questions about friendship?

Getting your information

• Careful of time
• Keep interview short
• Getting every word
• Ask only the best questions
• Take notes
• Record interview
• Only with permission!
