• I was asked questions about the purpose of the
  research, contacting GPs, interviewing people
  with learning difficulties and fictionalising
  cases.
• They approved it subject to the following
  conditions

• We remove from the information sheet for
  potential interviewees the words The research
  should help with suicide prevention
• We draft a new version of the information sheet /
  consent form for people with learning
  difficulties
• We ensure that any children and people with
  learning difficulties are only approached via
  their parents or carers
• We ensure that no initial approach is made by
  telephone call from the researcher (cold
  calling)
• If minor details of cases are changed to avoid
  deductive disclosure, we ensure that a statement
  is made in all publications to the effect that
  certain details have been changed to protect
  confidentiality
