Resistors in Series
The current here
is the same as the current here
and of course . . .
the current here, is the same as the first two.
In the circuit, the number electrons passing any
point is the same.
So what does this mean?? The current (I) is
always the same throughout the entire circuit
Therefore It I1 I2 . . .

Resistors in Series
A portion of the voltage is lost in the first
resistor V1
The voltage supplied by the battery here, known
as Vt
And more voltage is lost in the second resistor
V2
So what does this mean? Well the voltage from
battery is equal to the voltage drop across the
two resistors
Mathematically this can be written
Vt V1 V2 . . .
