Dr. Khater Massaad, CEO, RAK Ceramics

Beginning

• 1989
• Dr. Khater Massaad was invited by H.H. Shk. Saud
  Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme
  Council, Crown Prince and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah
  to conduct feasibility study to exploit minerals
  in RAK
• After the study was completed, it was found that
  the clay deposit was best suited to manufacture
  ceramic tiles
• 1990
• H.H. Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi envisioned a
  major plan for a ceramic factory in a private
  joint venture with few investors
• In February the construction of production
  facility began
• 1991
• In June, the first plant in RAK began production
  to meet the local demand before quickly expanding
  to overseas market

• First sanitary ware plant commences production
  with capacity to 1,000 pieces per day and quickly
  expanding to 3,000 pieces per day

  begins with 10,000 sq.m. per day capacity

• RAK Porcelain, a high-end tableware for
  hospitality is launched
• 2007
• Kludi-RAK, a joint venture for manufacture of
  kitchen and bathroom fittings along with other
  accessories for sanitary ware products

• Expansion of 8th plant in RAK to increase the
  capacity to 26,000 sq.mt. per day
• 2009
• Expansion of 7th and 10th plant in RAK to
  increase the capacity by 3000 and 15,000 sq.mt.
  per day respectively
• Expansion of sanitary-ware plant in Bangladesh
  with additional 1000 pieces per day capacity

RAK Antimicrobial- Worlds first ceramic tile
that reduces microbial contamination and
contribute to healthy environment

Specialty Tiles- RAK Antimicrobial

• Specially developed for RAK Ceramics after
  intensive research in Spain to cater to the needs
  of health-conscious customers and hygienic
  environment
• The specialized glaze is incorporated into the
  glaze during the manufacturing of the tile
• The firing of the glaze into the tile at high
  temperatures creates a surface that instantly
  destroys most of the microbes that come in
  contact with the tile
• Since the antimicrobial glaze is merged on the
  tile, it guarantees long-term performance
• It is best-suited for hospitals, pharmaceutical
  organizations, schools, hotels, kitchens and
  other areas where healthy living and cleanliness
  is a top-priority

RAK Luminos- Amongst first wonder tiles that
glows in the dark energized by surrounding light
and store light energy

• Intense research into selection of the non-toxic
  phosphorescent glaze which works by absorbing and
  releasing light energy in continuous cycle
• An initial high luminescence later translates
  into a gentle glow, creating a visual delight
• The tile will glow for several hours depending on
  how much it is charged due to exposure to
  sunlight or artificial light
• It is best-suited for use in exteriors of high
  value buildings and also interiors such as bars,
  restaurants, discos, night clubs and individual
  homes
• Extremely effective during emergencies and power
  failures, where signs glow in the dark

RAK Slim- Eco-friendly 4.5 mm slender tile with
strong break-resistance and easy installation

• Great strength of tile in comparison with the
  tile thickness of 4.5 mm with Breaking Strength
  of a minimum of 700 N and the Modulus of Rupture
  is a minimum of 40 N/mm².

• Reduction of structure cost due to almost half
  the weight of tiling reducing the dead load on
  the building
• Ideal for renovation of existing floors as
  demolition of existing floor tiles can be avoided
  since RAK Slim can be laid over it reducing time
  and cost.
• Ease of handling due to its light-weight feature
• Ease of installation as a wall tile with tile
  adhesive mediums
• Almost twice the quantum can be shipped in
  container reducing transportation cost
• Overall its a perfect eco-friendly product for
  its energy-saving, time-saving and space-saving

Stone Art- Latest Cerajet printing technology in
the ceramic tile industry for exterior and
interior finish

• The Stone Art models have unique stone look
  textures designs are possible with the latest
  printing tiles possible using only high -tech
  machinery and punches for effects.
• The tiles are produced on line and the tile
  series aims at conquering spaces in the exterior
  interior segments.
• Some of the new models launched in the series
  are Alta, Mosaic, Deep Stone Rustic, Travertino,

• The large size slabs is produced using the PH
  7200 press
• The large size slabs are available in 120 x 180
  double charged tile using the micronized powder

  and 45 x 90
