Biography

• Born-February 25, 1802 in San Antonio de Bexar
• Died-March 6, 1836 fighting in the Alamo
• He died at the age 34 fighting for freedom of
  Texas at the Alamo
• As a child he did not go to school , but helped
  his parents work

Why Gregorio Esparza is a good citizen

• Being a good citizen is giving back to the
  community. Gregorio Esparza didnt just give back
  of the community he gave back to the whole state
  of Texas. He gave his life to protect and fight
  for our country.
• Did he have to fight for our freedom against
  Santa Anna? NO!!! He chose to. He gave up his
  whole life, died, then WE WON!!!

Fighting and Other Facts

• Gregorio Esparza was the soldier that was in
  control of shooting the cannon bulls
• He was the only person that fought for our
  freedom in his entire family
• He was the only person who had a proper burial
• His brother, Frank Esparza, fought against him
  with Santa Anna
• He even has an elementary school named after him
