Title: Gyprock ShadowSet

1
Gyprock ShadowSet
  • The easy-to-install finishing touch
  • for contemporary homes

2
ShadowSetTM A more dramatic effect - for a
lower installation cost
  • Paper-wrapped plasterboard profile
  • 10mm thick. Fibre reinforced.
  • 105mm broad flat section
  • 12mm stepped recess on one edge.
  • Plant-On or Flush installation
  • Unique to Gyprock
  • Patent pending
  • Registered design

3
Plant-On Installation
  • Install ceiling sheets min. 30mm from the
plasterboard wall (40mm from the frame)
  • Use Gyprock RE/SE with the square edge at the
ceiling level, or install plasterboard sheets
vertically, or fill any recess in the wall lining
    at the ceiling level.
  • Install top wall sheets first, finishing close to
    the ceiling joists
  • For rendered brick applications, it may be
necessary to check in ceiling joists or use
furring channel to lower the ceiling
  • Fix ShadowSet using Gyprock Cornice Cement.
Gyprock screws may be used to hold the profile
in place until the cement sets.
  • Fill gaps between the wall sheet and the edge of
the ShadowSet profile with Gyprock Wet Area
    Acrylic Sealant.

4
ShadowSetTM Flush Application
  • Install wall sheets (as for Plant on)
  • Install Rondo 308 or 129 furring channel to the
    ceiling joists
  • At end walls, the furring channel must stop at
least 30mm short of the wall linings
  • Fix ShadowSet to the furring channel using
plasterboard screws at max. 600mm centres.
  • Alternatively, check in ceiling joists, ensuring
structural and ceiling height requirements are
    met
  • Fill any gaps between the wall sheet and the edge
of the ShadowSet profile with Gyprock Wet Area
    Acrylic Sealant.
  • Trim the recessed edge from the ceiling sheet and
butt the edge up to the edge of the ShadowSet
  • Tape and set as for a plasterboard butt joint.

5
Gyprock RE/SE Plasterboard makes it easy
  • RE/SE 1210mm x 6000mm and 1350 x 6000mm is now
    widely available.
  • With standard RE/RE board, there is a risk of
some of the recess showing near the cornice or
    the skirting.
  • 1210mm will cover standard 2440mm frame heights
without cutting. (10mm bottom gap 1210mm
1210mm 10mm top gap or to cover variation).
  • 1350mm will cover 2740mm frame heights, by
increasing the bottom gap to 30mm or 40mm. These
    project typically have wider skirtings.

6
ShadowSet is 25 lower cost than square set
ShadowSet is 50 lower cost than P 50.

Important Information for Carriers
As CSRs new cornice Gyprock ShadowSetTM is flat,
it needs to be handled a little more carefully,
to minimise risks of damage
  • Carry on edge (rather than horizontally)
  • It is best carried by two people. (Be safe
    avoid damage)
  • Where carried by one person, carry with hands 1
metre apart, lift slowly to avoid flexing and
    always lift with your legs
  • Stack in the same way as stacked on the pallet
  • These recommendations apply for all cornices,
though are particularly important for flat
    profiles, like ShadowSet.
