• Analyzers used for near patient global hemostasis
  assesment, irrespective of individual test
  principles, monitor all aspects of hemostasis
  (coagulation coagulation factors platelets
  and fibrinolysis).
• The analyzers quantify four questions
• How long does it take for a clot to form?
• How quickly does the clot grow?
• How strong is the clot?
• How quickly does the clot dissolve or not
  dissolve?
• Analyzers are used in the following clinical
  settings
• managing dynamic hemostatic changes in patients
  undergoing liver transplantation
• predicting perioperative bleeding during
  cardiopulmonary bypass
• monitoring hyper or hypocoagulability following
  general surgery
• monitoring pharmacologic agents affecting
• coagulation (heparin, LMWH, rFVIIa)
• platelets (GPIIb/IIIa inhibitors, aspirin)
• fibrinolysis (aprotinin, streptokinase)
