Red Herring Surf is Tasmania's original and
Number One surf store employing over fifty
Tasmanians. Since beginning operation in Hobart,
1971, the company has expanded state-wide with
six stores operating within the cities of Burnie,
Launceston, Clarence, Glenorchy, and Hobart.
About Red Herring
Red Herring Surf is a market leader in surf
retail and the name Red Herring Surf is now
synonymous with youth culture in Tasmania. The
company believes in providing Tasmania's youth
with means to speak out on many issues involving
them.

  organising skateboard parks across the state,
  supporting Youth Week, and the prevention of
  youth suicide, and delivering professional
  surfers and skaters to Tasmania.

travels the state organising events and
competitions, act as role models and demonstrate
their skills at local skate parks
Brendon Hill and George Newsholme two of the team
members have skated their way onto the national
scene and both have sponsorship contracts with
leading skate companies.

riders, Michael Brennan and Michael Hoult are
both in the top ranks of Tasmanian surfing. Both
Michael's have traveled to compete at National
level to fly the Tassie flag, where they have
both been very impressive with in turn has landed
them with sponsorship from major surf labels.
