Angel Island

• Angel Island is the biggest
  Island in San Francisco Bay. Chinese immigrants
  entered America through Angel Island.
• From 1910-1940 men and women
  were kept there for weeks, months, and sometimes
  even years. People that worked at Angel Island
  tried to deport as they can because there were
  too many Chinese in America.
• The Chinese immigrants wrote
  many poems and messages on the wooden walls
  expressing their feelings. One of the poems
  was.....

• There are tens of thousands of poems composed
  on these walls.
• There are all cries of complaint and sadness.
• The day l am rid of this prison and attaint
  success.
• I must remember that this chapter once
  existed.
• In 1940, a fire destroyed Angel
  Island. In 1942 Angel Island became a California
  State Park.
