Why is the Good News good news?

• Imagine what it must have been like when the Good
  News was first proclaimed!
• The mission of God does not begin with Matthew
  28, but rather Genesis 1.
• Why is the Good News still good news wherever we
  go?
• Before you can develop your vision for mission,
  make sure you know Gods vision for mission

What is Missio Dei?

• From creation, humankind was given the role of
  imago dei to be holy as he is holy
• The OT is full of humanity breaking covenant with
  God, even though God was faithful
• But there are strong shadows of One who is to
  come MESSIAH!
• Hebrews 11-3 Colossians 115-21
• Christology must precede ecclesiology or we will
  have a flawed missiology!

DO YOU KNOW THE STORY?

• There is no other story that offers salvation
  as defined by Jesus. I am the way, the truth,
  and the life.
• Jesus came to guide us to live the holy life, the
  true image of God.
• The adventure of life is finding your place, your
  unique contribution in the mission of God. No one
  is excluded. This is GOOD NEWS! NOW!

Refining your mission!

• Take a tip from Ezra For Ezra had set his heart
  to study the instructions of the LORD, and to do
  them, and to teach the statutes and ordinances
  (Ezra 710) Live fully in Gods story, not the
  worlds!
• Assess your gifts, passions, and abilities
• BE CREATIVE IN YOUR THINKING How can you be
  the love of Jesus to your world?
• Where can you best influence and truly help
  others with your gifts and passions?

The message we take to transform the world is
only as strong as the trans-formation that has
first taken place in us
