ELCSG Outreach Sub-committee

• One person per CERN member state (currently only
  16 members), nominated by RECFA, to adopt a
  country-by-country strategy to be implemented on
  the country level with the help of the ELCSG
• ELCSG asked the group to tackle three issues
• Immediate strategy aimed at politicians
• Strategy aimed at other scientists
• Strategy aimed at the general public

• Suggestion by WG6 of the ILC Workshop at KEK (Nov

• Hiring a dedicated communicator is difficult
• Youhei Morita (KEK) acts as ILC Communications
  Director Asia
• Gets help from other Asian colleagues (e.g.
  Kaoruko Saeti)
• Will hire someone at KEK end of this year to help
  in English/Japanese translation

• Found a typical European-style distributed
  solution

  members of the big labs and organisations
• Interaction.org collaboration members

• strong synergy effects expected
• One Communicator is already in place at LAL
• Other will start at DESY soon
• Need to discuss the interplay between the ELCSG
  Outreach Subcommittee, the GDE Communicators, and
  the rest (e.g. the press offices of the labs)
