Abstract The Smart Scheduler is an online
application that is designed to make the
scheduling of classes easier. Smart Scheduler
uses the concept of web personalization to create
a class schedule that is suitable for that
student. The scheduler will know information
about each student including their major, minor,
year in school, times that they are
available/unavailable and what electives they are
interested in. When a student logs onto register
for the semester they will choose from a list of
classes they need to take. The scheduler will
arrange the classes they have choose using the
information about availability and the classes
they have already taken. Several possible
schedules will be made for the user to choose
from.

The main goal of smart scheduler is to help UNR
students make their schedules more efficiently
and conveniently by providing recommended
solutions.

Conclusion The prototype of our Smart Scheduler
is a great beginning to an actual application
that will be very useful and beneficial to the
ePaws registration system as well as UNRs
students. This project has the potential to be
extended upon such as application to other majors
and more personalization to recommend different
classes that arent required. The Smart
Scheduler proved to be a challenge for all of us
because we had to combine all the knowledge we
gained from our CS classes into this project.
Our ideas and concepts behind the Smart Scheduler
should be used to vastly improve the class
registration system.
Future work More advanced searches. Higher
security. Permission of registration.
Additional majors. Implement into ePaws.
